About Library
Reading Tamil books is a highly beneficial practice when learning the language. Whether you are a beginner or an intermediate learner, incorporating reading into your language learning journey can offer numerous advantages that can significantly enhance your language proficiency and overall understanding. Here are some of the key reasons why reading Tamil books is important:
Vocabulary expansion: Reading exposes learners to a wide range of words and expressions. By encountering new vocabulary in context, students can grasp the nuances of word usage, leading to a more extensive and natural vocabulary.
Grammar and syntax: Language books often follow proper grammatical structures and syntax, making them valuable resources for understanding how sentences are constructed and how grammar rules are applied in context.
Cultural insights: Tamil books often delve into the culture, customs, and traditions of native speakers. This helps learners gain a deeper appreciation and understanding of the cultural context behind the language, which is essential for effective communication.
Reading comprehension: Regular reading practice improves reading comprehension skills, enabling learners to understand texts more efficiently and accurately over time.
Exposure to various styles: Tamil books cover a diverse array of genres and writing styles, including literature, poetry, non-fiction, and more. This exposure helps learners become familiar with different writing conventions and improves their ability to adapt their language usage to various contexts.
Language immersion: Reading provides an immersive experience, even if you are not in a country where the language is spoken.
Enhanced writing skills: Exposure to well-structured and well-written texts helps learners internalize proper language usage and writing techniques, leading to improved writing abilities in the language.
Motivation and enjoyment: Engaging with language books that interest learners can be an enjoyable and motivating aspect of language learning. Learners who find content they enjoy are more likely to stay committed to their language studies.

DTP Reading Log Procedure and Library Books
Reading has a significant impact on all of us, especially children. Short moral stories for kids teach life lessons to kids in a creative and entertaining way. It also guides them to distinguish between right and wrong and instills moral principles from an early age.
Our library is offering Tamil children's books for all reading levels. We encourage all children to take advantage of our school library by borrowing books regularly.
Every child will be provided with a reading log sheet and a folder.
They will be encouraged to read books for about an hour every week.
Students have to log the title of the book they read, the total reading time, and the date, and submit it with their parent's signature every week.
The reading log sheets will be graded every week by the teacher, and the best reader will be rewarded at the end of the year.
Our Dallas Tamil Palli (DTP) school library hours are 4:00-4:20 PM and 5:40-6:00 PM and it will be located in the hallway. Either students or parents can take books on behalf of students.
